Who we are

Yot Kom Missions International (YKMI)

Yot Kom Missions International (YKMI) is a Ugandan global health organization based in Gulu, specializing in international clinical elective programmes, humanitarian healthcare, university partnerships, research and community-based health education. We partner with universities, healthcare institutions, professional organizations and communities to develop healthcare professionals who are clinically competent, culturally responsive, ethically grounded and prepared to lead in an increasingly interconnected world. Our flagship programme, Oral Health Uganda, is the operational foundation of our humanitarian and educational work.

Healthcare education for an interconnected world.

The future of healthcare depends not only on scientific knowledge, but also on the ability of healthcare professionals to work across cultures, collaborate across disciplines, and respond compassionately to the needs of diverse communities.

As healthcare systems become increasingly interconnected, universities and healthcare institutions are seeking educational partners capable of preparing graduates for this reality through meaningful, supervised, and ethically grounded international experiences. Yot Kom Missions International (YKMI) was established to meet this need.

Unlike traditional placement providers, YKMI does not simply arrange international experiences. We design structured educational programmes that combine supervised clinical learning, community engagement, humanitarian service, interprofessional collaboration, research, leadership development, and cultural immersion into a single learning ecosystem, intentionally developed to complement university curricula while strengthening existing healthcare systems through long-term partnerships.

Our flagship programme

Built on Oral Health Uganda.

Oral Health Uganda (OHU) is the flagship programme of Yot Kom Missions International and serves as the operational foundation of our humanitarian and educational activities.

Recognized for its commitment to improving access to oral healthcare, OHU delivers community outreach clinics, school oral health programmes, preventive care initiatives, mobile dental services, and professional training throughout Uganda. It is also the primary platform through which international dental electives, humanitarian dental missions, and collaborative oral health projects are delivered.

The experience and credibility established through Oral Health Uganda now provide the foundation upon which YKMI is expanding multidisciplinary healthcare education and international partnerships.
